Past Echoes: Memorable Performances

Relive some of the unforgettable musical moments that have graced the Resonance stages.

Brídín: Enchanting the Shores in 2023

In 2023, we were captivated by the ethereal talent of Brídín. Her unique blend of traditional Irish harp, electronic elements, and soulful vocals created a truly mesmerising experience. Accompanied beautifully by violin and cello Brídín’s performance transcended genres, weaving a tapestry of sound that perfectly echoed the natural beauty and spiritual essence of Lough Derg. Attendees spoke of being transported, of feeling a deep connection to both the music and the contemplative environs of Saint Flannan’s Cathedral. A particular highlight that deeply moved the audience was her evocative rendition of “Ocean of Stars.” Her set was a true highlight, a testament to the power of artistic innovation rooted in rich heritage.

Jerry Fish: The Showman’s Spirit in 2024

The legendary Jerry Fish brought his inimitable charisma and eclectic sound to Resonance in 2024. Known for his captivating stage presence and a genre-bending mix of carnival-esque rock, vaudeville, and indie pop, Jerry delivered a performance that was both exhilarating and deeply engaging.

He particularly nailed the theme of Resonance – which often delves into creativity, connection, and the artist’s journey – by opening his set with a dramatic and poignant rendition of Daniel Johnston’s iconic song, “The Story of an Artist.” This powerful start immediately set a tone of introspection and shared humanity. Accompanied by the multi-talented Cian Boylan on keys Jerry proved why he’s one of Ireland’s most beloved entertainers, creating a shared experience of joy and collective effervescence that truly ignited the Resonance Festival spirit. His set was a vibrant and dramatic, leaving everyone with a smile and a tune in their hearts.

Kieran O’Dea’s Ukulele Workshop:

A beloved feature of both the 2023 and 2024 festivals, Kieran O’Dea’s ukulele workshop provides a fun and accessible introduction to playing this joyful instrument. Open to all skill levels, it’s a chance to learn new skills, connect with fellow music lovers, and create your own Resonance soundtrack. Beyond the Notes: The Resonance Experience
