Code of Conduct
All guests at Resonance events will be obliged
to adhere to our code of conduct.
Code of Conduct
In summary
Our code of conduct is to ensure that throughout the event we provide a safe, welcoming space for everyone. Since the event takes place across multiple locations, both indoor and out, we ask that folks act in ways that are respectful and considerate towards others around them.
Anti-harrassment
Our emphasis is on providing a safe harassment-free conference experience for everyone. Please be aware of what that means. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Check your privilege
We also ask participants to display dignity and courtesy throughout the course of the three days in their interactions with non-participants, service-people, transportation staff, hotel staff, and each other. We are exhibiting great privilege to be able to gather in such a beautiful and welcoming location, and we ask that you respect the wishes of local residents, hotel staff, bar staff and workshop leaders.
Please also be aware of the folks around you and show courtesy and respect for folks who may have different perspectives and different lived experiences to your own.
The policy is universal
Sponsors are also subject to this policy and we ask all sponsors to ensure that everyone, on whose behalf they buy tickets, is familiarised with the code of conduct.
Expectations and reporting
Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the conference organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact either Steve, Emily, Carmel or a member of our advisory team. If you wish to raise a complaint about any of us, please raise it with another member. If you wish to report a code of conduct violation please do so through the enquiry form on our contact page.
The bottom line
We expect participants to follow these rules at event and workshop venues and all event-related social events.
This code of conduct was inspired and adapted from Conf code of conduct. Sincere thanks to the team at our ticketing partners at Tito, for guiding us in the creation of our Code of Conduct.
